Following many years at a senior level in the ICT sector, working for Global organisations, with a growing dissatisfaction for what I was doing, I changed career to become a certified trainer and executive coach. With a passion for personal transformation (my own as well as others), and the ethos of life long learning, over the years I have taken a number of courses to learn and develop myself and to offer to others, including a BSc (Hons) Psychology and MSc Mindfulness from the University of Aberdeen.
Working with a variety of organisations, in both the public and private sectors and I have experienced first-hand how Mindfulness can change the culture of an organisation by promoting well-being in individuals, allowing them to reduce stress, increase resilience, improve focus and develop stronger interpersonal relationships.
Many Mindfulness courses, particularly the Mindfulness Association’s Mindful Based Living Course, which I teach, also promote the theme of Compassion and Self-Compassion, and I am delighted to be a trainee trainer for the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion which is delivered in conjunction with Bangor University, Wales, and recently completed the teacher training for the MA’s Compassion Based Living Course.
Although I am very excited about Mindfulness and the benefits it brings, I still get much enjoyment from my business courses and corporate clients too.
I enjoy yoga, am a member of a local book group, recently joined Edinburgh’s Got Soul, a local singing group with (fortunately) no talent required. My fitness goal for 2019 is to climb Ben Nevis – watch this space!
