“Noticing what is happening while it is happening and without preference” Rob Nairn
Mindfulness can be defined as ‘being fully in the moment’ or ‘knowing what is happening, while it is happening, no matter what‘. Easier said than done! Mindfulness is about living in the present, about being more awake and alive to our lives and experiences rather than operating from an ‘automatic pilot’ in which we can be cut off from our environment and others around us..
Mindfulness is an inherent faculty that the majority have not developed. We are encouraged to eat healthily and exercise so that our bodies are fit for life, but rarely do we engage in activity to keep our minds healthy and fit for life. This is what practicing Mindfulness does. In as little as 10 minutes per day.
I have an MSc in Mindfulness from the University of Aberdeen, am a member of the Mindfulness Association and teach Mindfulness in accordance with the guidelines set out by the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teaching.
While most of my Mindfulness training is within organisations, I do coach privately and occasionally run public courses. To find out more please email me. email@example.com
